The European Golf Association (EGA) has confirmed that Estonia has been given the opportunity to hold European Golf Championships  for for two years, commencing in 2021. Next Summer the Men's and U18 Junior B Division Team Championships will arrive in Jõelähtme. A year later, the European Senior Men's Team Championship is to be held on the same course at EGCC. Of course, the men's B division team championship has been held in Estonia once before. In 2007, Estonia won the competition at Niitvälja, and Mark Suursalu finished on top. He now plays the role of head coach.

The EGCC, which celebrates its 15th birthday this year,  has previously organized four European Championships. In 2012, the Mid-Amateur Championship, a year later the Senior Championship, the Women's in 2014 and the 2016 European Individual Men's Championships, the World Cup European Qualifiers in 2009 and in 2011, in addition to top amateur competitions. “There is fierce competition for hosting competitions, which is why EGA's decision has to be taken as recognition of Estonian golf and previous successes. For two years in a row, our best players of the appropriate age group will have the opportunity to compete with the best in Europe on their home turf. I hope that with home advantage and local support we will be able to produce good results as well” added Erki Mölder, the president of the Estonian Golf Association.
