Day two of the European Championship ended with a share of the lead for Meronk, Rosenmüller, Ross and Petrozza. Estonia's best player Sander Aadusaar has a share of 21st place at -3. After 2 days of competition, four players share the lead: Adrian Meronk from Poland, Thomas Rosenmüller from Germany, Craig Ross, a Scot and an Englishman, Gian-Marco Petrozza. All stood at seven strokes under par at the close of play.
The second day of the competition saw strong wind and some rain. The Pole, Adrian Meronk who is the ninth ranked amateur in the world said that the conditions were quite difficult.
"The wind made it very difficult to play, but the result pleased me nonetheless," he said. But then, Meronk is on familiar ground. Six years ago, he played the boys competition at the Estonian Golf and Country Club.
After finishing today the young US university graduate went straight to the range for get some fine tuning in before tomorrow. "Yes, for me it’s my normal routine to do what I can to stay where I need to be," said the Pole.
Scot Ross, who also has a share of the lead, is competing thanks to the decision of the committee to allow him to participate after arriving late due to losing his luggage en route to Estonia. Fortunately for Ross, by the afternoon of the first day his luggage was found, and the competition committee gave him the opportunity to finally get to the first tee.
Day one leader, Jeremy Paul from Germany played one over par today and consequently dropped to a share of eighth place at -5.
Estonia's best player Sander Aadusaar has a share of 21st place at -3. 60 players who have made the cut with continue for the last 2 days of competition.
