Estonian Golf and Country Club’s reputation as one of Europe’s top championship venues has been further boosted following the announcement that it will stage three international European Golf Association (EGA) tournaments over the next four years.

The continent’s top amateurs will tee up in Tallinn for the 2013 European Seniors Championship, followed by the European Ladies Amateur Championship in 2014, and in 2016 for the International European Men's Championship.

Taking place from June 13-15, 2013, the International European Seniors Championship will be the EGA’s third competition to be held in Estonia following the International European Mid-Amateur Championship played in June 2012, and the European Boys' Challenge Trophy in 2010.

Contested over the highly acclaimed Sea Course – ranked in Golf World (UK) magazine’s Top 100 Golf Courses in Europe – golfers will face a stern but enjoyable test as the course meanders through forest before opening up alongside the coastline of the Gulf of Finland and Jägala River Delta.

Hanno Kross, CEO of Estonian Golf & Country Club, said: “The course is at its most playable in June, so the players will have a fantastic opportunity to score well, unless they fall foul of some of our cunningly placed hazards or ancient granite boulders, relics of the last ice age, which are dotted around the venue.”
