We all have noticed, that the weather has been really unpredictable lately. We haven’t had so much rain in the last 50 years as we had in last September and this years’ March has also been surprisingly cold.
Having observed the weather in Jõelähtme on last Sunday the 24th, we saw everything else than signs of spring. There was even 40 cm of snow on some parts of the Sea Course and only little part of grass was seen on the Stone Course. However, we still saw people enjoying the course - some skiers were still out for the winter sports.
Our greenkeepers are already started their working season with cleaning the forest floors, preparing the maintenance machinery and many other things, which can be done even with the snow. The greenkeepers are already doing their best to make the coming season enjoyabel for everybody.
The EGCC staff will move back to the club house on 1st of April. From that Monday we are open and you are welcome to visit us. As soon as we are able to open the Stone Course, Eigo will also be present with the Fahle’s restauarant staff.
There will be some reorganisation at the club house. The pro shop will be extended twice the size it has been and this gives us the possibility to enlarge the selection of logo products and clothes in our shop.
In addition, we have decided to reorganize the parking system. The three first parking lines will be reserved only for EGCC club members.
Now we only have to hope for some warmer weather and rain, which will melt the snow on the Stone Course. Time has shown, that the course needs 5°C of warm and some days of rain and it is ready for the first rounds of golf. Sea Course will be open as soon as the course is dry enough to enjoy the golf. The opening day depends on the coming weeks’ weather. Hopefully, it will be the last weekend of April.
