To celebrate 10 years and one day since the opening of the EGCC Stone Course, the Anniversary Tournament sponsored by Dell & Max 123 will host 252 players on both the Sea and Stone courses.
Naturally, players and their guests are welcomed to continue the celebration with a birthday party in the evening.
We will also have a special guest, the world’s best female golf player of all time, Annika Sörenstam.
The winner of 93 professional tournaments including 10 of them major championships.
Annika was the first woman in history to play a par 72 golf course in under 60 strokes.
In March 2001, she played a round in 59 strokes at the Moon Valley Golf Course in Phoenix, Arizona.
On Friday the 29th, while the club members are playing, Annika will be touring the terrain of the future Annika Course.
By 2019 there will be another top 18-hole course built under the supervision of Annika Sörenstam and European Golf Design.
The schedule for reconstruction shows that the ground breaking will start at the end of the 2016 season with seeding to commence in 2017.
The course will continue to mature in 2018 and the first playing season is planned for 2019.
Guests at the EGCC birthday celebration will include representatives of the European Tour and European Golf Design and the highly regarded Sea and Stone architect Lassi-Pekka Tilander.
There will also be more than 10 international media organizations present to cover Annika’s visit to EGCC.
